The Board of Directors is considering the following changes to the By-Laws of the Amityville Chamber of Commerce. Should there be no objection from the general membership, these changes will be voted on at the June 2015 Board of Directors meeting and will take effect on July 1, 2015.
Article II. Membership
Section 8. Dues
Membership dues shall be at such rate as may be prescribed from time to time by theÂ BoardÂ of Directors, payable annually, in advance. Dues should be paid on or before the first day of the month theÂ ChamberÂ Member initially joined theÂ Chamber. For those members who paid dues under the By-Laws adopted in October of 1997, dues will be payable on or beforeÂ the first day of the fiscal year.Â
Article III.Â Meetings
Section 2. RegularÂ MeetingsÂ (to now read)
MeetingsÂ of the general membership will be held on the first Wednesday of each month.Â MeetingÂ of theÂ BoardÂ of Directors will be held on the third Wednesday of each month. the time and place of eachÂ meetingÂ shall be determined by the President, unless otherwise noticed to the membership orÂ Board, respectively. EitherÂ meetingÂ may be canceled at least seven days in advance by a majority vote of theÂ Board, or by an Officer in the event of severe weather event, which shall not be subject to advance notice.
Article IV.Â BoardÂ of Directors
Section 11. Phone Voting Procedure
In the event that a matter is in need of theÂ BoardÂ of Directors immediateÂ attention, any Officer of theÂ BoardÂ of Directors (President, Vice President, Treasurer or Secretary) may hold a telephone vote to poll all the members of theÂ BoardÂ for their vote. A majority of theÂ BoardÂ of Directors is required to pass a Phone Vote.
