First, a big thank you to our Amityville Chamber of Commerce Intern for all of your hard work this summer. This blog was written by one of Amityville’s High School students, and we hope you enjoy it.

Don’t Miss this Year’s Apple Festival

New events are “falling” into place this Apple Fest! Where will you be in the mix?

The Amityville Apple Festival offers something for all ages to enjoy. Whether it is picking the perfect pumpkin, sampling sweets, or taking home a fresh batch of apples, you are sure to have a blast.

Though the leaves may be falling, spirits are indeed rising in Amityville. Apple Fest is a festival like none other, and we have put together everything you need to know to get in on the autumn fun.

What is Apple Fest?

Each year, Amityville celebrates the fall season with the Amityville Apple Festival, hosted by the town’s Rotary Club and held in in conjunction with Amityville Chamber of Commerce.

The Festival takes place Saturday, October 7 at Park Avenue Elementary School.

You can expect over 50 vendors, plus live music, face painting, food, and more. Also, keep an eye out for performances from the local dance and karate schools. These kids are always incredible!

Get in the Fall Spirit

There are many exciting, fall activities for people of all ages to enjoy. You can pick pumpkins with the Amityville National Honor Society, including everything from tiny, palm-sized pumpkin sprouts, to giant pumpkins that will scare all of the goblins away! Embrace the Halloween spirit by carving pumpkins with family and friends, or ignite your hauntingly fun side with a spooky jack-o-lantern creation.

With every turn through the town, you’ll find opportunities to revel in your sweet side. Craving candy corn? Apple Fest has got you covered. Whether you want to revisit your fall traditions or try something new, this is certainly the right place to start.

The Apples!

Last but certainly not least, we have the apples. Apple cider, apple pies, apple donuts, candied apples, apple everything! Afterall, it is called the Apple Festival for a reason.

Buy freshly picked apples by the bag or indulge in an apple treat while you explore the fair. Don’t forget to take a few apple goodies home to share with family and friends.

The advisory board is off to a great start. You are invited to take part in the second Amityville School – Business Advisory Board meeting on Thursday, May 19th in the Library at the Amityville Memorial High School. Help us to ensure that students will be 21st century, college and career ready. Chamber members are encouraged to attend and see how their business can work with the Amityville School – Business Advisory Board.

The tentative agenda for the meeting is as follows:
