Following please find the slate of nominations for candidates as Officers and Directors of the Amityville Chamber of Commerce.

Dina Shingleton, President
Dina Shingleton is co-owner of Darlings & Divas located in the Better Bagel shopping center on Merrick Rd.  Since opening in August of 2010 Dina has been an active member of the Amityville Chamber of Commerce working on events such as the AppleFest and Evenings in Amityville.  She was appointed President of the Chamber of Commerce in January of this year.  Prior to opening Darlings & Divas, Dina had a varied sales and marketing career working in New York City.  She graduated from SUNY New Paltz magna cum laude in 1997 and received a MBA in entrepreneurial studies from Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business in 2005. Also a resident of Amityville village, she is Vice President of the Amityville Parent Teacher Council and a member of the Amityville Junior League.

Robert Schumacher, Treasurer
Bob was born and raised in the Town of Babylon.  He received his undergraduate degree from SUNY Fredonia in Business and Economics and went on to get an MBA in Corporate Finance from Dowling College.  Bob has worked for State Farm Insurance since 1995 in various positions. In 2007 he was chosen to open up a State Farm Agency in the Village of Amityville, where he has worked to serve the people of Amityville and its surrounding area. After opening the agency, Bob immediately joined the Chamber of Commerce and started getting involved to help promote the Village of Amityville. In 2009, he was elected Treasurer of the Chamber of Commerce and has served in that capacity ever since.  Personally, he will be married to his wife Kelly 10 years come this December and has been blessed with 3 daughters; Jordan (7), Riley (5), and Alexa (3).

Joanne Mills, Director
Joanne Mills is a lifelong resident of Amityville. She has also been a business woman in our community for over 20 years. Her and her family operated a Delicatessen in the village for over 7 years and since 2000 to present she has excelled as a Real Estate Professional in the Amityville Community. Her passion for Amityville and it’s community of business owners is evident in her continued marketing of both in the Amityville Living Facebook Page. She believes that the Amityville Business district can and should be as vibrant and successful as other Long Island towns. She is eager to share her knowledge of networking, marketing and education of business and business professionals. She presently holds the position of President for the Long Island Chapter of the Women’s Council of REALTORS. A national organization of men and woman who’s mission is advancing women as professionals and leaders in business, the industry and the communities they serve.ÂÂ
She has been featured as a top Realtor in the April 2014 issue of Miliue Magazine (Long Island Professional Woman’s Magazine) and Success Magazine. Joanne has also been a featured speaker on the subject of Social Media at the National Mid Year Conference and Exit International Convention last year in Washington D.C., she will be featured again next month (May 2014) in Washington D.C.

Liz Fanning Holdorf, Director
Liz Fanning Holdorf launched Great South Bay Dance in 2009, initiating an after-school dance instruction program at St. Martin of Tours School and a summer dance program at Amityville Village Beach. She initiated additional dance programs subsequently at the Town of Babylon’s Tanner Park in Copiague and at neighboring public libraries and private schools. She is certified by Dance Educators of America.
Her various programs grew and proved popular with dancers and their parents alike, prompting numerous requests for additional classes in a studio. In response, Ms. Fanning Holdorf and her longtime colleague and friend Diana Schubert opened Great South Bay Dance Center in Amityville in 2012, fulfilling a goal they shared for several years.ÂÂ
Ms. Fanning Holdorf was raised in Amityville, New York, where she attended St. Martin of Tours School. During her high school and college years, she worked summers at Amityville Village Beach as an instructor and then as supervisor of the sailing program.
Long after starting her dance lessons at age 4, Ms. Fanning Holdorf discovered the joy of hip hop and her calling as a dance instructor while attending Boston University, where she majored in anthropology and minored in business.

Keith Mainhart, Director
Keith Mainhart is the Director of St. Martin of Tours Outreach Program since 2005. The program includes many social service and advocacy programs for the less fortunate in the Amityville area. This includes running The Cloak Room Thrift Shop in Amityville Village. After Superstorm Sandy he organized the local relief program and is instrumental in the ongoing Amityville Recovery effort. He works along with Catholic Charities and many community organizations in the pursuit of social justice. He is a co-founder of the Long Island Interfaith Environment Network and has appeared in local and national media outlets discussing environmental issues. Keith was instrumental in helping St. Martin of Tours School earn the prestigious 2009 EPA Energy Star for Schools Award. He holds a Masters Degree in Urban Affairs and Environmental Public Policy from the University of Delaware.ÂÂ

Annette Drago, Director
Starting with a 30-year dream, her retirement money, and the love and support of her family, Wrapping It Up (180 Park Avenue, Amityville) opened in Amityville in March of 2010.  Annette loved the sense of community in Amityville and thought her family business would be a good fit! Annette has served as the head of the Chamber of Commerce’s Merchants Committee and has been an integral part of the production of events such as AppleFest!

Additional names of candidates for Officers or Director may be nominated by Petition, which makes reference to the respective positions, bearing the genuine signatures of at least ten (10) members in good standing of the Chamber.  Such petitions must be received by the Nominated Committee chairman (Pat Brennan, MES) no later than five (5) days after the May general membership meeting.  The determination of the Nominating Committee (Pat Brennan, Mary Jeanne Corea, and Vincent Cunningham) as to the legality of the Petition(s) shall be final. ÂÂ
